"A Day in the Life of a Chinese" - Production Plans
PRODUCTION CALENDAR:
Next Monday - February 8th (H.O.T. session with Chinese teacher)
Going to the local village to find some people to interview.
EQUIPMENT LISTS/LOAN REQUIREMENTS:
Camera/video camera
Chinese Teacher

Car/driver
IDEAS/BRAINSTORMING:
We will interview a chinese kid and a chinese adult in the local village outside of school.
We will ask simple questions. (e.g. How long have you been going to school? About how much money do you make in a month? What do you want to be when you grow up?)
We will ask one of our Chinese teachers to help us translate and tell us how to ask the questions.
At the end we will say "there are people out there who need our help. You can be that one special person that will help and will make a difference."
It will show us handing the kid a teddy bear and two sharpened pencils.
Questions to ask:
The Kid (8-10) -
What's your name 你叫什么明字？
How old are you? 你几岁？
Do you have any siblings? 你有兄弟姐妹吗？
Do you go to school? 你去不去学校？
How long have you been going to school? 你上学了多久？
Do you enjoy going to school? 你喜欢去学校吗？
What do you want to be when you grow up? 你长大想当什么？
What would your perfect day be like? 你最完美的一天会怎么样？
The mom (youngish))-
What's your name? 你叫什么明字？
How old are you? 你几岁？
How do you support your family/make money? 你怎么赚钱？
What is your biggest dream in life? 你的最大的梦想是什么？
How many kids do you have? 你有几个小孩？
Were you born in Shanghai, if not, where were you born? 你在上海出生的么？／ 你在哪里出生的？
What would your perfect day be like? 你最完美的一天会怎么样？

USE AN ALTERNATE IDEA. (Interview Yuval's ayi and driver)
This is how we will video:
First we will video the car ride, and video trying to find someone.
When we find someone (if we find someone...) we will start asking them the questions.
We will cut any parts and make sure that the video is 4:00 min exactly, worst case we will cut the part were we are looking for someone to interview.
We will ask 5 question, and if we see it's to long we will ask 3-4 questions (depends on the length of the answer).
